#weddingwednesday Honeymoons

Honeymoons.
Did you take one? How long? Where to? Spill! *pictures welcome*

  • Matt Hutchison Two weeks in Hawaii. First week in Oahu doing all the run around touristy fun stuff you see on TV . Second week on the big island at an all inclusive, wake up and lounge all day with 5 star food and drinks, kind of place. #lovedit
  • Harry M Wagenaar 2 weeks Montreal Canada---Expo 67.
  • Ashley Strong My mom is a travel agent and specializes in honeymoons! You can also make a registry for your honeymoon thru her and people can contribute and buy you excursions and things!
  • Cassidy Sanderson Yes left the Monday after. Went for 10 days. Kauai. So beautiful. So many amazing hikes and active things to do
  • Todd Hernandez 2 weeks. Kauai. Playing and eating all over the island
  • Shanon Tipton Mayan riveria Spa palace. All inclusive and adult only. Fabulous!
  • Todd Hernandez Shanon s memory is fuzzy
  • Brian Stones Yup. 1 week in Kauai. Adventure island. Zip lines, ATVs, chopper tours (I believe "The Two Champs" helped to pay for that),hiking. Stuff we didn't do (that I wish we had) kayaking, stand up paddling, surfing, snorkeling, snuba, boat tours and probably a ton of other stuff.
  • Shana Hooker 2 weeks in Bali. Relaxed on the beach, then had adventures in the jungle, ate delicious food and battled the mosquitoes throughout
  • Heather Kent Costa Rica for 3 weeks. Here was our visitor while we were laying on a beach on the Caribbean side...Cahuita to be exact. Thought we'd backpack it and take public transportation like we usually would travel...but after the first day of figuring out t...See More
  • Martha Keegan Costa Rica for our Honeymoon , Greece (Santorini) before I got pregnant with kids and Hawaii for our 10 year anniversary. I'd do it the same all over again. Costa Rica is beautiful. It's just like Hawaii, but much cheaper!
  • Jeremy Turpen 2 1/2 weeks, all over Italy. By land and a cruise. It was fabulous. Only other place I've been that would be a honeymoon contender is actually South Africa... That's my two cents.
  • Shanon Tipton Todd ur so right lol
  • Heather Kent My favorite place though is Thailand and Laos...been to both twice and will most llkely go a few more times in my lifetime.
  • Kimiyo Cordero Loved Hawaii because we just got to be in our honeymoon bliss and I highly suggest a honeymoon it's the one time you can get away when ur in that bliss state and time gets away from u and once you have kids it's a lot harder to get away and not feel guilty or think of other people or things. Wedding bliss is beautiful! Wishing for Another honeymoon for our 10th Anni
  • Ashley Thomsen Week in Tahoe two weeks after the wedding ...
We purchased our first home and couldn't afford much. A family member gifted us their timeshare. We saved and saved and saved (and finished school, etc) and went to the Caribbean 4 years later
  • Allyson Gee We went on a disneyworld/disney cruise trip. Stayed at the animal kingdom lodge and saw giraffes eating from trees right outside our balcony. We do disney a lot, but staying at a special hotel made it more enjoyable.
  • Andrea Wagenaar Mullin 2 weeks at 2 different locations in Belize. Amazing water cave hike, waterfalls, great diving, Mayan ruins, stayed in a treehouse. And super cheap
  • Sharon Larson Paris, France for 10 days. Staying in Paris for that amount of time allowed us that honeymoon bliss thing instead of trying to see all of Europe. We were hoping to return for our 25th but alas not this year. Perhaps soon…
  • Jeanette Hom Wong 10 days to Hawaii- 1/2 the time on the Big Island and 1/2 on Maui.. But my biggest advice to you is to go somewhere you will never go to again. We wanted to go to Tahiti but it was pricey so we "settled" for Hawaii- we go to Maui almost every year now that we have kids. I doubt we will ever go to Tahiti bc there are so many other places we want to see now... Shoulda bit the bullet.
  • Alissa DuBrow Meltzer 2 weeks in Hawaii. One week in Maui and one week in Kauai. Blissful & beautiful & relaxing after all the (fun) stress of wedding planning! Do take the opportunity to go away. I agree it gets harder as you get older and other things take priority over a long, indulgent vacation!!!
  • Brittney Schwarz Left the Monday after our wedding (highly recommended if you're going right away). Then off to The Atlantis in the Bahamas. Tons of watersides which I loved, restaurants, casino, night clubs (which made for a fun night of dancing), aquariums, plus everything the Bahamas has to offer
  • Chris McGuire 7 nights all inclusive in St. Lucia. Private bungalow and no cell or Internet. Best week ever!
  • Kimberly Fitzpatrick All inclusive in mexico! Best decision ever! We didn't even want to move after all the wedding craziness so the beach, cabana and pool with all you can eat or drink in paradise for a week was perfect!
  • Megan Bay I don't know about honeymoons but my dad goes to Mexico 2x a year and always stays at all inclusive resorts in Cabo or Puerto Vallarta and has a blast! Food and booze are included and some are even adults only if that's your cup of tea!
  • Kristin Zanjani Riviera maya Mexico. 10 days all inclusive adults only. Amazing relaxing bliss. Although you two seem like you'd like some craziness. Like roaming through an African jungle lol
  • Mary Lynn Schneider We leave for Tahiti in 17 days (but who's counting!). Decided we would probably never have a chance to go there again. If we have kids, we'll be able to take them to places in Mexico and the Carribean. Paradise awaits!
  • Amber Rose Akerly Do all inclusive it makes everything less stressful! ALSo use a travel agent they get you great deals and know where to stay, plus when our hotel got hit by a hurricane the night before our wedding she rebooked everything for is and we didn't have to stress at all! We did the Bahamas !
  • Vickie Wagenaar Every. Single. One.... sounds awesome!

I've never done all-inclusive but this year's Success Club trip is to Moon Palace in Cancun the month PRIOR to our wedding so all of these have me even more excited! #BEACHlorette #jobperks
  • Raelene Atkinson Teerlink Yes!! Week cruise to Mexico. It stops at Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. Sad thing was we were on our way to the first port when swine flu broke out. Haha. Bad timing. But we didnt mind We've been back again on the same exact cruise ...See More
  • Niki Stade 5days6nights punta Cana Dominican Republic AMAZING
  • Niki Stade I have a whole photo album on my fb check it out!
  • Niki Stade I agree with ziplining it's a must
  • Jason Diebold Sandals negril hands down
  • Robin Kim Lyons 10 days in the Virgin Islands- blissful. We fell in love with the Caribbean, beautiful people, delicious food and gorgeous water/beaches. Every island in the Caribbean has a different flavor, there are so many to choose from. We'll be going back for a fourth vacation this year, love it!
  • Brittany Amborn 10 days at an all inclusive in Antigua- if you're a bachelorette fan it's where Desiree went- loved it! We slept woke up walked 10 feet to chairs on the beach, were greeted by rum punch, slept read books, ate lunch, back to the beach, more rum punch, dinner bar repeat. We did nothing touristy but don't regret it at all. We had such a crazy first year the solitude and rest was perfect.
  • Anne McDermott Flew to Paris for a few days, flew to Rome for 3 days, train to Venice and then Florence then fly to Greece for cruise on sailboat. It was great!
  • Vickie Wagenaar Anne McDermott that Greece sailboat cruise sounds heavenly. I don't think it'll make it on the honeymoon itinerary, but I've already set the expectation that Greece WILL be an anniversary trip (at some point).
  • Erin McKee Tahiti is where my sister went for hers and my brother went to the Amalfi Coast for a week and then another week was spent in Paris...Greece is one of my all time favorite places...mmmmmm
  • SaNdra A. SalDaña Well I've obviously never been married, but I would guess the kind of honeymoon you want is pretty important, no? Do you just want to relax on a beach? Do the touristy things like walk a lot and sight see? Greek islands are crazy beautiful...but depending on time of year, you can come across lots of tourists.
  • Vickie Wong My husband and I lived in Hawaii at the time so we honeymooned in Ashland, Oregon. Good food, great plays, spa days, and stuff like that. I want to go back for an anniversary some day
  • Emily Jean We waited a year so we could really enjoy our out of town guests after the wedding,we had a huge beach house w my husbands family for the wedding, so it was nice to be together(some had never seen the ocean!) our honeymoon was a month in Peru. Parts of it reminded me of our Central America trip all those years ago  it was a country and continent that neither of us had visited before.
  • Kendra Williams Two weeks in Maui. I wouldn't recommend staying at the same hotel/spot for two weeks. We were bored after a week even though we were doing a lot of activities (parasailing, bike riding, snorkeling, etc.). And yes I made my husband take "honeymoon" photos. He wanted to kill me but we did it with our matching outfits. Haha.
